Wallet Backup card

A Wallet Backup (formerly recovery seed) card is a small booklet that is used for writing down the wordlist when initializing your Trezor device. A pair of cards is included in each package:

Never make a digital copy of your Wallet Backup, and always keep it safe from fire, water damage, and the risk of theft!

Why does my Trezor Safe 3 have the old 12-word Wallet Backup card?

Please note that even if an order is placed after the introduction of the new Single-share Backup standard, your Trezor Safe 3 may ship with the older style 12-word Wallet Backup card. This is dependent on the date of manufacture/packaging, rather than the order date.

During Trezor device setup, you can always select your preferred backup method - regardless of the backup card shipped with your device. We recommend choosing Single-share Backup if you’re a first-time Trezor user, or Multi-share Backup if you’re ready to take your personal security standards to the next level.
