Unauthorized transaction

Transactions which are confirmed on a blockchain explorer are irreversible. There is no authority that can help you return coins after a transaction has been confirmed even if you did not authorize the transaction yourself.

Each transaction must be signed using your private keys, which are stored in your Trezor device. If you did not authorize the transaction, there are two likely scenarios:

  • Someone else used your physical Trezor device to confirm the transaction
  • Your wallet backup (recovery seed) was compromised, and someone used your private keys to sign the transaction.

Anyone who knows your 12, 20 or 24 word wallet backup has full access to all of your accounts.

If you think that your wallet backup or device might have been compromised, we suggest moving all remaining funds to a newly created wallet backup.
