What is a node?
A node is a computer connected to a blockchain network. A node that keeps a full copy of the blockchain and checks every transaction against the network's rules is a full node.

Full nodes store and sync the entire blockchain, then share new blocks and transactions with each other. Because the data is spread across a peer-to-peer network, no single company controls it.
Why run your own node?
Running your own node lets you verify your transactions independently, without trusting anyone else's server. When you connect Trezor Suite to your node, Trezor Suite uses your infrastructure to look up your balances and transaction history, and to broadcast new transactions to the network.
