AVATAR UI is an open‑source desktop application that serves as a minimal, agent‑focused interface for interacting with artificial‑intelligence models. It combines a retro terminal chat surface with a small avatar window and separates input, output and presence so users can run large language models locally without relying on any cloud UI. The app allows switching between multiple providers—Gemini, GPT and Claude—through simple configuration, and includes built‑in search sub‑agents and an implementation of Google’s Model Context Protocol to extend functionality . It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux via Electron, and is released under the MIT licence.
